Upper Alaknanda Expedition

A self-contained expedition river rafting trip, it provides you the thrill of running one of the most technical and challenging white water rafting in the Indian Himalaya’s that has grade 4 to 5 rapids with loads of adventure to offer. The stretch between the Chamoli and Rudraprayag, is a classic river run negotiate over 75 to 80 grade 3 to 4+ rapids, including the grade 5 ‘Hillary Fall’ named after Sir Edmund Hillary’s up-stream jet boat expedition called “Ocean to Sky”. Only a hand full people have rafted this section.

Kameng Expedition
Trip dates: 20th February - 3rd March; 13th- 24th November; 27th November- 8th December 2010

The Kameng River is one of the BEST expedition trips in all respects. Apart from the consistent white water adventure, the river takes you through lush rain forests teeming with wild life, including exotic birdlife and long stretches of uninhabited countryside. The river borders the Eagle’s Nest Wildlife Sanctuary. The region is home to many tribes and the expedition allows you a glimpse of their culture in this remote and “hidden away” part of the world.

Kameng River has seen only a handful of paddlers as it has only been run thrice before – November 07,March 08 & February 09 and has the potential to make it to the first 5 ‘Must do’ river expeditions in India…..well maybe first 10 in Asia. Be the first few to go on this spectacular river journey. Arunachal Pradesh requires a special permit to travel; the deadline to apply for the permit for the November 2010 trips is 30 September ‘10.

The Tons offers one of the more technical river expeditions in India and has plenty of rapids spaced together with flat water. You will spend the day on some of the most exciting white water, with rapids such as ‘On the Horns of the Tons’, ‘Tons Squeeze’, ‘Confluence’, ‘Tuni Bazaar’ , ‘Tricky Chute’, ‘Deadly Dadsu’ and many more with late afternoons and nights spent relaxing and enjoying the riverside camp or exploring the area. The last stretch of rafting and kayaking will take us through a spectacular canyon which can be only be seen from the river and bring us to the some exciting rapids like the ‘Roaring Baghgani’ & ‘ The Dark Hole’. Our river expedition ends at Minus. This river expedition brings one closer to nature as well as gives you an opportunity to discover a new side to yourself.

‘A Little BIG River’ - The emerald green Sarayu is an ancient river that finds mention in the Rigveda and the Ramayana. The Sarayu River in the Kumaon region of Uttarakhand offers brilliant landscapes with picture perfect beaches and canyons. A Self-contained expedition on the Sarayu offers you an experience of both low and big volume river. A trip on the Sarayu combined with ‘Himalayan’ big volume style of rafting on the lower Kali offers an awesome white water expedition experience.

The Brahmaputra is called the Tsang Po in Tibet, flowing gently eastwards the river cuts the Himalayas and the highest unclimbed mountain in the world ‘Namche Barwa’, before it enters the North East of India in Arunachal Pradesh where it becomes the Siang. The Brahmaputra expedition is an exciting journey down one of the world's greatest big volume rivers. The river journey takes you through remote land of ancient tribes, dense rain forest gorges, negotiating the finest big volume white water.
