Lohit, ARUNACHAL PRADESH

The Lohit enters India at its Eastern-most point, Kibithu, and is a challenging river to run. This self-contained Kayak expedition on the Lohit begins in the upper reaches of the alpines and slows down towards the end of the trip. It has grade 4-5 rapids and promises a river rafting journey like none other. One will negotiate rapids and paddle through some amazing white-water to discover a land that is distant and undisturbed by civilization. The expedition on the Lohit often requires support by land crews.

Anvesh S. Thapa was an expedition member to run the first complete descent on this river in 2003.
